I found this gem of a found-footage movie trailer via GeekChicDaily. The Troll Hunter is a Norwegian low-budget film with surprisingly cool special effects. Like The Blair Witch Project before it, this movie’s main characters are early twenty-somethings supposedly filming a documentary on supernatural creatures; in this case, trolls. Of course, there is the obligatory government conspiracy to cover-up their existence, so our plucky investigators must overcome recalcitrant farmers, annoyed bureaucrats, etc, while on their quest for evidence. If you aren’t up on your Scandinavian fairy tales, you should google trolls before watching this to get some background information and just be an all-around smarter person. If you want to get your geek on in a serious way, check out this movie.
P.S Don’t you think it would make an epic video game?

This looks so cool! That face! I absolutely have to see the whole movie.
BTW, I nominated you for a Versatile Blogger award (but not a Versatile Bloffer Award. I don’t know what a bloffer is.)
If you don’t know what that means, you can check it out here:

Wow! Thanks for the nomination! (And congrats on yours!) Looks like a great way to meet some new bloggers, too. I’m going to track down a copy of The Troll Hunter this weekend and will let you know where I found it. If I find it.
Cool! And happy new year!
the best fairy tales make visually amazing video games
This movie was amazing!!! And I love that someone else has heard of it that I can geek out with.
I’ve been watching more Norwegian films lately, after I saw the classic zombie-movie-before-zombies-were-cool, Dead Snow, and the same director’s hilarious parody of Kill Bill, Kill Buljo. I love the distinctly European style, even while they are paying homage to American movies.
And I agree–a video game needs to be made!
